My Philosophy Manifesto and What's to Come...
I've been consistently reading, analyzing, and writing about philosophy for almost 2 years. Here's what I learned:
I’ve learned that I could get a job through philosophy-
I studied about Friedrich Nietzsche’s understanding of Will to Power, which helped me to get enough confidence get a job promotion at work. Also, I use the Will to Power approach to expand, increase, and grow my Substack publication.
Not everyone is interested in philosophy or the same approach- Not everyone wants to improve themselves or aspire to think more or be more in life. That’s fine. Those of us who do care about philosophy have the opportunity to improve our lives and grow as individuals. “We” can be the ones who shape the world.
Nietzche is definitely popular- While I have discussed other great thinkers and philosophers on here a little, I get most interactions and interest from my reading and analysis of Nietzsche. This makes sense, because Nietzsche is considered by most people who study philosophy as the last great philosopher.
For example, I’ve read a little about Martin Heidegger and Michel Foucault and their relevance to modern philosophy in the 20th century. As far as I can research, they were both ardent students and proponents of Nietzsche and sought to carry out Nietzsche’s observations of philosophy to the highest level. That is primarily what I’ve been doing here as well before I even read anything about Heidegger and Foucault. To me, it seems like I’m heading in the right direction if I am traveling down the same path as these two other modern and renowned philosophers. That’s what you call serendipity.
My audience has grown and wants more- I get it. Just like I, people starve for new content all the time. I’ve grown a small community of about 15 subscribers over the last year and nine months, plus about 500 monthly readers and followers. It is for this reason that I’m going to put in the additional work and provide more content.
I’ve been publishing an article every two weeks for the last few years. I am going to start publishing one high-quality and well-edited article once a week here on Substack. If, for whatever reason, I happen to miss a week, I will make it up the next time with two articles. I’m not going to short-change my readers and subscribers. With me producing more content each month, I will pay-wall some of my articles. Getting paid will help incentivize me to produce better content and value.
The origins of this newsletter were to hand something down to my daughter- I wanted to give her something that she could read in the future and implement in her own life. Along the way, I hope she could have an idea of the impact that I’ve made on others and the world.
So far, I have accomplished my goal. I’ve explained a few ideas of philosophy to my daughter, such as Nietzsche’s “that which does not kill me, only makes me stronger” quote. I have also taught her some about Homer’s Odyssey and Plato’s Republic. I think I’ve also helped some of her reasoning skills to develop more as well.
My audience- Along the way, you have been with me and have grown with me. Some of you have said that my writing was “beautiful,” and others have told me that “it was exactly what they needed to hear.” That’s very nice to hear, and such positive feedback is what lets me know that I’m doing exactly what I’m meant to do.
Moving Forward…
I’ve got upcoming content, such as:
A series on Nietzsche’s “Thus Spake Zarathustra” book. Besides analysis and points-of-interest about the chapters in the book, I want to consciously implement what I read about this book into my own life and write essays about it. I have done this with a few essays, but I want to do this with the whole book. Think about it…this book is about how to be a Superman and advance as a human to the next level. That’s powerful stuff. There is speculation that in WWI, the German government issued it to their soldiers in their ruck sacks in combat.
You know there’s got to be some heavy stuff in that book to apply to daily life.
More Goethe. I’m getting more books by Goethe, such as his poetry books. I’m also in the middle of reading a scholar’s edition of “Faust.” This book continues to give me great material to publish as well.
Greek philosophers. I intend to publish articles on Socrates, Aristotle, etc. For example, I’ve read Plato’s Republic a few times, and I’m excited to publish articles on it.
Plus, a whole lot more!
I’m very excited to continue along with this publication and expanding my topics, audience, and everyone’s enlightenment.
Thank you.

I sincerely look forward to your series covering Nietzsche’s “Thus Spake Zarathustra”. I'll reread it chapter by chapter as you cover each one. I paused to ponder that tidbit regarding German soldiers in combat reading it. Wouldn't it be fascinating to privy to their thoughts on it ?
Sorry, I dated your post by making it 16 subscribers.
